An isolated single L-II type coronary artery anomaly: A rare coronary anomaly.
The incidence of congenital artery anomalies is 0.2-1.4%, and most are benign. Single coronary artery (SCA) anomalies are very rare. The right coronary artery (RCA) originating from the left coronary system is one such SCA anomaly, and the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) increases if it courses between the pulmonary artery and aorta and coexists with other congenital heart diseases. Addition...
متن کاملUnusual congenital coronary anomaly and myocardial ischaemia.
Angiography was used to diagnose a rare congenital coronary anomaly with myocardial ischaemia in a woman with typical angina. All three coronary arteries arose from a solitary coronary ostium in the right aortic sinus; the left anterior descending coronary artery followed a septal course, the circumflex coronary artery ran behind the ascending aorta, and the right coronary artery followed a nor...
متن کاملRescue PTCA in a Patient with Single Coronary Anomaly.
We present a case of rescue percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using right radial approach in a rare case of single coronary artery originating from the right sinus. Although these anomalies and stenosis of anomalous vessels have earlier been reported, treatment of atherosclerotic lesions by PCI has rarely been reported. There is a definite risk during PCI in patients with a single corona...
متن کاملTwin circumflex arteries: a rare coronary artery anomaly.
Dual origin of the circumflex artery is an extremely rare anomaly. We report a rare case of a left circumflex artery arising from the left mainstem and an anomalous circumflex artery from a separate ostium in the right coronary sinus. Both these arteries supplied the circumflex territory. The potential pathological significance of the anomaly and pitfalls of the misdiagnosis are also discussed.
متن کاملA Rare Coronary Anomaly: One Ostium Fits All
Coronary anomalies affect a small percentage of the general population. A solitary coronary ostium in the absence of other major congenital anomalies is very rare. We describe a case of a patient, admitted to our cardiology department with an acute myocardial infarction. A coronary angiogram shows a solitary ostium originating from the right sinus of Valsalva with the left anterior descending c...
